What are the differences between Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A?: Both Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A are gastrointestinal medications effective for loose stools and diarrhea, as well as diarrhea with vomiting; Seirogan is also effective for toothaches.
Made with the JP wood creosote and four other natural ingredients, Seirogan is a soft and moist pill formulation with a special taste and smell.
Seirogan Toi-A is a sugar-coated tablet formulation made with the JP wood creosote and two other natural ingredients. It is coated with white sugar to facilitate smooth swallowing. Therefore, if you do not like the smell or taste of Seirogan, please try Seirogan Toi-A.

How do Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A relieve diarrhea?: JP wood creosote can regulate the water content in the intestinal tract and resume the colon from over contraction to normal motion in order to reduce the water content in stools and thereby relieve diarrhea. More importantly, it will never inhibit the normal motion of the intestinal tract.

How long will it take for the Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A to go into effect?: The leading time for Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A to go into effect varies from one person to another. Generally, it takes about 30 minutes for them to take effect, and the effect will last for about 3-4 hours.

When should I use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A?: If you want to go the toilet or have diarrhea on the way to school or work as a result of loose stools, you can take either the Seirogan or Seirogan Toi-A after a bowel movement. Please make sure that Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A should be taken after meals (best within 30 minutes) with a glass of water.

Can I use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A with tea, coffee or alcohol?: It is always better to use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A with water or warm water. It is all right to take them with coffee or tea. For alcohol, however, as it can enhance the effect of medication; please avoid using medications with alcohol.

Is there any problem using Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A continuously?: If the condition remains unchanged after taking Seirogan or Seirogan Toi-A for 4-5 days, please consult your physician or pharmacist.

Can I take Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A with other medications or health supplements?: Please make sure that neither Seirogan nor Seirogan Toi-A is taken with other anti-diarrhea medicines, in particular with medicines that suppress the regular movement of the intestine. As for using Seirogan or Seirogan Toi-A with other medications or health supplements, there has been no complaint reported so far. For your safety, however, please consult your physician or pharmacist before doing so.

Can children use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A?: Children aged 5 or older can use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A, though they are not recommended to children under 5. (Children under 5 may choke because pills or tablets of 6mm or longer are not suitable for children under 5.)

Can pregnant or breastfeeding women use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A?: Neither Seirogan nor Seirogan Toi-A contain ingredients not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Also, there have been no complaints so far about problems of taking Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A by pregnant or breastfeeding women. However, the bodies of pregnant women change, so please consult your physician or pharmacist before use.

Can I use Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A for any form of diarrhea?: Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A can be used for diarrhea and food/water poisoning symptoms. However, please consult your physician or pharmacist if you have acute diarrhea or diarrhea with high fever, blood or mucous stools.

Who shouldn’t use Seirogan?: Those who have a history of allergies (rash, irritating skin or itching skin) when using Seirogan or children under 5 are not recommended to use Seirogan .

Who should not use Seirogan Toi-A?: Those who have a history of allergies (rash, irritating skin or itching skin) when using Seirogan Toi-A, children under 5 and those who are receiving a hemodialysis treatment are not recommended to use Seirogan Toi-A.

How to use Seirogan for toothaches?: Please cut Seirogan into suitable sizes and mesh it in order to put it in the hollow section of the decayed tooth. Please note that Seirogan is an analgesic and cannot cure any tooth decay. Therefore, please consult your dentist as soon as possible even if the pain is relieved. Moreover, please remove Seirogan from the hollow section of the decayed tooth if the pain is relieved.

Seirogan is soft and moist. Is this a problem?: Seirogan is soft like an earlobe and the moist pill formulation can be deformed easily.

Seirogan is sticky and moist. Is this a problem?: Seirogan contains water and the pill surface will become sticky when the temperature and humidity change. It is absolutely safe to use. Also, dew may form inside as the temperature and humidity change. However, the Seirogan inside is still safe to use.

The smell of Seirogan is found on the sugar coated Seirogan Toi-A. Can it be taken in such condition?: Seirogan Toi-A contains the JP wood creosote as in Seirogan. The sugar coating may be damaged after physical impact, etc., then the smell of Seirogan may come out. Still, you can safely and effectively take the tablets as long as you do not mind the smell.

When is the expiry date?: The expiry date is indicated either on the package or the container/PTP pack.
The expiry date has been indicated since July 1997 for Seirogan and since July 1999 for Seirogan Toi-A.
If you cannot find the expiry date, the product must have expired. Please do not use and discard it.

How can I store Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A?: Please secure the cover after use and keep the Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A away from direct sunlight and in a cool place.

Can I store Seirogan and Seirogan Toi-A in other containers?: To ensure product quality, please do not put them in other containers.

What is the PTP pack of the Seirogan Toi-A?: The PTP is the acronym for press-through package, i.e. tablets are packed individually with aluminum foil, so that consumers can press the tablet in order to take it out from the package.
Do not take out the tablet from the package except when using.
